Graduate Pathway to Success
Our 12month Graduate Program is your stepping stone to becoming a successful Workplace Rehabilitation Registered Psychologist and at the end youll come out of it with a permanent role at KINNECT. Importantly this role meets all the requirements for a Provisional Psychologist to obtain the practical experience needed to register as a fully qualified psychologist while getting paid at the same time. With our guidance and support youll gain handson experience and develop the skills to:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of clients cognitive and psychological functioning to identify barriers to returning to work.
- Collaborate with medical professionals employers and other stakeholders to develop individualised rehabilitation plans tailored to each clients needs.
- Provide evidencebased interventions such as CognitiveBehavioural Therapy mindfulness techniques and stress management strategies to help clients overcome challenges and build resilience.
- Offer counselling and education on topics such as PTSD workplace stress management and fostering supportive work environments.
- Monitor clients progress throughout rehabilitation adjusting intervention strategies as needed to facilitate successful returntowork outcomes.
- Deliver adjustmenttoinjury counselling to support clients in understanding their injury and developing effective coping strategies.
- Maintain accurate documentation of assessments treatment plans and progress notes adhering to professional standards and regulatory requirements.
Program Structure & Support
KINNECTs Graduate Pathway offers a structured 12month development plan designed to equip you with the skills and experience you need to excel. Heres how we support your journey:
- Supervision:A dedicated Team Manager will be your primary supervisor guiding your transition into fulltime work and ensuring you meet all the requirements for provisional psychologist registration for AHPRA.
- Mentorship:Youll be paired with a mentor from your discipline to provide insights advice and support.
- Professional Development:Participate in monthly professional development sessions
- Collaboration:Shadow professionals and engage in Internal Focus Groups to enhance your learning and share experiences with likeminded peers.
- Personalised Learning:Tailor your journey to fit your needs with access to relevant professional development opportunities supported and paid for by KINNECT.
- Peer Support:Connect with a buddy from last years graduate cohort to guide you through your first year.
- Recognition and Celebration: At the conclusion of the 12month period recognition of the completion and accomplishment of the new graduate group with an inperson celebration bringing the New Graduate team together to a central location.

Steps to Obtain Provisional Registration
- Complete an Accredited FourYear Psychology Sequence:
- Finish a fouryear sequence accredited by the Australian Psychology Accreditation Council (APAC).
- Choose Your Pathway to General Registration:
- 51 Internship Program: One year of postgraduate study and one year of supervised practice.
- Higher Degree Pathway: Completion of a Masters or Doctorate in Psychology.
