MINIMUM:
- Baccalaureate degree in American Sign Language (Linguistics Sign Language Studies Sign Language Education Interpreter Education Deaf Education Deaf Culture etc.
- Certified Deaf Interpreter (CDI) or National Interpreter Certification (NIC) credential from Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID) or certification from American Sign Language Teachers Association (ASLTA) or any other equivalent certification.
- Masters degree in American Sign Language (Linguistics Sign Language Studies Sign Language Education Interpreter Education Deaf Education Deaf Culture etc.
- At least two years teaching American Sign Language classes at a college or university

- Teach the equivalent of five 5 courses per semester (fall and spring)
- Develop and revise curricula
- Advise ASLS students
- College service (committee assignments recruitment events etc.
- Professional development (conferences workshops publications etc.
- Serve as program manager for the Associate of Arts in American Sign Language Studies.
- Other duties as assigned
