Position Summary
Why Its a Great Opportunity:
In this role with the Program Development team you will contribute to a team that develops a number of key planning and programming documents including the countys 6year Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) the Safe Routes to School Plan and ADA Transition plan. You will also have the opportunity to collaborate with local state and federal agencies as well as the Puget Sound Regional Council working together to address transportation issues in our region and coordinate with various regional committees focused on transportation projects programs policies and funding.You will join a seasoned team in the development administration and management of State and Federal transportation grant projects and coordination with other local state and federal agencies. You will work on a wide range of priority projects and programs with a variety of other Divisions and Departments such as Finance Parks and Maintenance and Operations among others.
You will also have the opportunity to be the teams expert and lead on developing Benefit Cost Analysis (BCA) in alignment with the US Department of Transportation for a variety of priority capital transportation projects. Your experience in grants economic assessments and BCAs will be used for inhouse expertise as well as coordination with consultants.

- to be Successful in the Role:
In this limited duration position you will communicate often with internal teams specialty groups and some other local agencies. You will need a strong ability to work independently on highly accurate and complex products but will always have team support. We are looking for your technical and analytical mindset to incorporate various data and costs to analyze current projects and prepare us for future success. Your Future in this Role:
This is a limited duration position that will end on 12/31/2025 that may be turned into a fulltime career service position in the future. Throughout the onboarding process you will meet with the Director Managers Supervisors teams and the PPW senior admin team regularly to discuss expectations set goals identify priorities gain familiarity with current policies procedures and strategic measures. Core Daily Responsibilities:- Reviews comprehensive engineering plans reports studies and related documents and translates contents to appropriate funding application administration and close out documentation.
- Studies analyzes and prepares engineeringrelated reports as required by state federal and local authorities. Presents findings orally or in writing to county staff officials or other agencies.
- Prepares scopes cost estimates specifications special provisions and related documents for capital improvement projects.
- Prepares supporting documentation submits project prospectuses and makes application to outside agencies for funding and grants.
- Communicates with staff and the general public regarding departmental policies and procedures. Provides technical advice regarding engineeringrelated problems or projects to the public and the builders.
- Coordinates specific capital improvement project planning efforts on behalf of the County and interfaces with other agencies or municipalities. Coordinates with other sections community groups or elected officials regarding current and future needs and requirements.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- A resume and cover letter are required for this position.
- Registration as an EngineerinTraining and seven years of progressively responsible experience related to the position is required.
- A bachelors degree from an ABET accredited program in civil engineering or a closely related field may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis up to four years.
