Description

Job Title: Tennis Teaching Professional/Assistant Head Pro

Supervisor: Head Tennis Professional

Supervises: No direct reports.

Partners with Head Tennis Professional to develop and schedule parttime coaching staff.

General Summary:

The Tennis Teaching Professional/Assistant Head Pro interacts with members through teaching lessons clinics and tournaments and actively helps in coach player and program development. Member experience is the Tennis Professionals primary responsibility.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Teaches tennis 3035 hours per week.
  2. 510 Admin hours per week (including but not limited to one Pro Shop shift per week)
  3. Teach and assist with program planning and communication group lessons private lessons and assist with any Junior and Adult program events as needed.
  4. Help coordinate and run USTA tournaments social events and other programming.
  5. Collaborate with the Head Tennis Professional and our team and members to design implement and continuously refine our Junior Tennis Program.
  6. Teach and assist with planning camps; includes summer winter and special holiday camps.
  7. Organize and lead small group Junior Tournament travel squads.
  8. Partnering with our team to deliver members and their guests a great experience.
  9. Stay up to date with industry teaching developments and incorporate them into teaching.
  10. Other duties as assigned by Head Tennis Professional.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities Required:

  1. Positive encouraging organized highly motivated prompt and enthusiastic.
  2. Able to deliver information clearly concisely and timely.
  3. A customer service attitude and passionate about the sport of tennis.
  4. Available to work a full schedule yearround including nights and weekends.
  5. Tennis coaching experience of all ages and skill levels for a minimum of 1 year preferred.
  6. USTA NTRP of 4.5 or equivalent experience is preferred.
  7. College tennis experience required.
  8. PTR USPTA or ITF Certified (or willing to become and maintain certification).
  9. Safe Play approved (or willing to become and maintain approved status).
  10. Willing to drive vehicles up to 12passenger vans for group tournament travel.

The employee frequently is required to use hands to finger handle or feel objects tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
