Job Description

Essential Functions

  • Achieve and exceed budgeted room nights and revenue goals annually.
  • Analyze and estimate total value of each piece of business and negotiate best situation for achieving optimum revenue for the hotel while ensuring excellent customer service.
  • Utilize the marketing plan to uncover new and potential business.
  • Ensure accuracy for forecasting of revenues with most updated information.
  • Professionally represent the hotel in community and industry organizations and events.
  • Direct the solicitation efforts of the sales staff through effective oral and written communication while overseeing rate date and space commitments for group room sales within the hotel.
  • Coordinate ongoing research of the travel industry to detect market trends and related information for the development of new marketing strategies. Make reasonable recommendations to improve potential from various markets.

Skills and Abilities

  • Understand the mission vision and goals of the hotel
  • Extensive knowledge of sales skills.
  • Extensive knowledge of revenue management.
  • Knowledge of hotels and competitive market.
  • Ability to analyze data and establish appropriate action plans.

Job Qualifications/Requirements

Education: High School diploma or GED equivalence required; bachelors degree preferred

Experience: Prior hotel sales or related experience required

Additional: Will be required to work flexible scheduled shifts based on business needs

Physical Requirements

The minimum physical requirements for this position include but are not limited to:

  • Must be able to lift and/or carry up to 40 pounds frequently to assist guests
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time
  • Ability to hear understand and communicate orally and in writing to communicate with staff vendors and guests a normal inperson and phone conversation
  • Ability to bend and twist push and pull stoop and kneel
  • Ascend and descend a ladder
