The Supervisor of the Electrophysiology (EP) Lab exhibits exemplary clinical operational and financial performance in the Electrophysiology and device labs. This role is responsible for facilitating the planning organization implementation and control of the resources needed for optimal performance in coordination with the physicians other clinicians and support staff. This job provides immediate supervision for EP laboratory staff.
Essential Job Functions
Supervise the clinical staff of the EP Lab including recruiting interviewing hiring training coaching mentoring developing performance standards for the department and staff.
Review performance which includes ensuring staff have completed required mandatories.
Ensuring staff maintain their competency by evaluating patient treatment.
Ensuring all regulatory (DHEC TJC etc. requirements have been met staffing scheduling grievance resolution corrective actions discipline and terminating employment.
Manage the EP Lab operations by effective FTE staffing and scheduling and changing by analyzing patient flow and projected cases budgeted throughout the year.
Monitor departmental financial status through variance analysis and make appropriate operational adjustments to maintain budget.
Maintain lab clinical protocols and modifies when appropriate and develop protocols for new procedures and maintain all departmental records and reports for administrative and regulatory purposes.
Evaluate work conditions to ensure safe practices infection control policies and procedures and life and fire safety programs are adhered to.
Ensure customer and patient satisfaction by conducting surveys analyzing results sharing Information with staff members developing plans to address any patient or customer concerns and acting as liaison between administration and medical staff/patients/families/visitors staff
Maintain and improve patient care standards and clinical protocols and assure continuous improvement by ongoing monitoring and variance evaluation and analysis.
Monitor all high risk and complicated cases and take appropriate action to assure high quality cost effective clinical outcomes.

Licensing/Certification
RCIS or BSN preferred. Must have a current American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Provider Card. Cardioversion/Defibrillation Advanced Cardiac Life Support.
Education
AS or equivalent in healthrelated field or HS diploma with 5 years experience in Electrophysiology. Testamur NASPE XAM AM/AP or AP/PA preferred.
Work Experience
At least 2 years of work experience in EP and Device lab procedures including but not limited to circulating monitor and scrub positions.

Skills
Demonstrates a high degree of understanding of cardiac arrhythmias patient parameters and the management of cardiac complications.
Demonstrates an understanding of all invasive EP and device implantation procedures the equipment and supplies needed for each and the indications for performing each procedure.
Skilled in maintaining effective working relationships with patients physicians families and coworkers. The ability to analyze situations apply critical thinking and clearly communicate assessments and proposed recommendations.
Actively involved in recruiting interviewing hiring; collaborates with HR department. Performs midyear and annual evaluations of dedicated EP staff.
