Job Description Summary
The Division of Occupational Therapy at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) invites applications for one 12month faculty position rank and salary commensurate with experience. Faculty at all ranks may apply. The OT Division hosts two academic programs: the MUSC EntryLevel Occupational Therapy Doctoral Program (residential and hybrid) ranked in the top 10 of OT programs in the nation by US News & World Report and the online PostProfessional Occupational Therapy Doctoral Program launched in 2019. The EntryLevel OTD Program has received accreditation. The faculty member will have primary responsibilities teaching in the Residential Occupational Therapy Doctoral (OTD) EntryLevel program serving as the OTD Residential Admissions Coordinator along with mentoring students. Preferred expertise in adult physical rehabilitation neurorehabilitation and musculoskeletal conditions. Opportunity to develop his/her independent research program and/or scholarly activities is encouraged. The successful candidate(s) must possess an earned doctoral degree or its equivalent. Preference will be given to candidates with relevant clinical experience and those eligible for OT licensure in South Carolina.Entity

As part of the greater Medical University of South Carolina the OT Division is an integral part of the states only academic health sciences center known for its excellence in interprofessional education. The College of Health Professions (CHP) is ranked 11th in the nation in terms of total NIH funding among Schools of Allied Health & Health Professions with a total research portfolio of $17.2M in FY 24 (NIH total is $23.6M). CHP has the Center for Rehabilitation Research in Neurological Conditions an emerging center that supports collaborative rehabilitation science and health services research provides mentoring opportunities for junior faculty and offers research infrastructure. OT faculty and students collaborate with a broad range of educators clinicians and researchers across the state and several faculty hold dual appointments across CHP and in other MUSC Colleges. Through its strong history outstanding record of educating occupational therapists and dedication to interprofessional education and research the OT Division is poised to enhance the Departments and Colleges overall goal of achieving national distinction in education research and service.
