General Information:
The University Career Centers mission is to prepare and empower all students in every aspect of their career development. We are seeking Media Student Assistants for theacademic school year to get the word out about UCC events and services.

This position will be 10 hours per week.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Craft creative content for UCC social platforms and marketing efforts such as (but not limited to): copy graphics posters flyers photos and videos.
Assist with social media management tasks such as posting and communicating with the audience on social media platforms
Utilizing Canva and Adobe Creative Cloud (Illustrator InDesign and/or Photoshop) to create and edit graphics.
Take and edit photos of selected events and programs hosted by our department
Record and edit videos of selected events and programs hosted by our department
Serve as our departments advocate for career services resources and programs at JMU
Complete other tasks and duties assigned to support UCC marketing and communication projects
Attend weekly team meetings with UCC Media Team and scheduled 1on1 meetings with the supervisor
Qualifications:
Required:
Graphic design experience (ideally using Canva or Adobe programs).
Ability to write clearly and concisely.
Be detailoriented organized positive and reliable.
Be able to work independently.
Be willing to learn new skills required to complete job responsibilities.
Preferred:
Publicity experience for a group club or organization
Experience with Teams or other workflow management systems
Experience maintaining social media communities (using Instagram Facebook Twitter Hootsuite etc. for clubs groups departments or brands.

Conditions of Employment:
Students must be degreeseeking students enrolled on at least a halftime basis 6 credits for undergraduate and 5 credits for graduate).
Students must have a 2.0 or better cumulative GPA.
