The Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) will identify or diagnose communicative or oral lingual disorders and delay in the development of communication services and provide therapeutic intervention for children birth 3 years.

Responsibilities:

  • Provision of services via assessment plan development and monitoring of progress towards the outcome training and support to family members in implementing the IFSP.
  • Refer for medical or other professional services necessary in the childs care.
  • Environmental consultation to ensure that appropriate adaptations and safety issues for the eligible child have been incorporated as set forth in the IFSP.
  • Documentation of services provided as reflected in IFSP.
  • Complete necessary documentation to facilitate reimbursement through primary funding sources (i.e. Medicaid First Steps etc.
  • Comply with First Steps Provider Agreement in regard to continuing education etc.
  • Promotes activities in the natural environment to enhance implementation of IFSP.
  • Report any suspected abuse neglect or exploitation immediately to supervisor or department head.
  • Comply with all standards to assure the health and safety of all individuals

Knowledge Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to supervise others
  • Excellent communication skills and attention to detail
  • Strong computer and paperwork skills

Qualifications:

  • Valid Drivers License.
  • Licensed by the States Speech Pathology and Audiology Board
  • Meets criteria for First Steps Provider Enrollment
