This is a Site Engineering position for the Anniston AL Heat Transfer Fluids & Aviation Hydraulic Fluids manufacturing site which is part of the Additives and Functional Products Division. This position involves leading initiatives with onsite resources contractors and corporate experts to implement cost and capital improvement projects.
Primary responsibilities include:
Perform testing data collection and interpretation of results to provide plant improvement opportunities and justify projects
Troubleshoot plant issues with bias towards a timely response
Identify and implement improvement projects (safety quality cost) to drive improvements at the site.
Establish and maintain longrange reliability improvement plans focusing on sustainable results
Lead investigations into the root cause of site incidents and manufacturing failures to prevent reoccurrence
Provide small and large project leadership with a bias for timely completion to meet business needs
Champion predictive maintenance techniques employing industry best practices
This position reports to the Engineering & Maintenance Manager
Other duties may include:
Support and/or direct the activities of wage maintenance technician(s) via training on project scopes and best practices
Work closely with other engineers operations and maintenance resources to develop and prioritize improvement projects. Coordinate resources for implementation
Develop & lead reliability efforts to meet key business and site initiatives in a safe manner
Maintain site engineering standards in areas of expertise
Communicate effectively and appropriately to all stakeholders
Recommend spare parts for reliabilitycritical equipment
Develop expertise in large multistage compressors pumps fans turbines and other electromechanical rotating equipment
Employ use of modern tools to enhance reliability at the site
Working knowledge exotic metals and material composition
Design equipment to be highly reliable maintainable economical operable and safe
Maintain relationships with various technical and business organizations that focus on reliability engineering and maintenance issues
Optimize/rationalize and develop preventative maintenance plans
Possess a good working knowledge of:
Equipment reliability measures (MTBF MTTF MTBR OEE etc.
Improvement tools and techniques (SPC sixsigma etc.
Investigative techniques (FMEA RCFA etc.
OSHA Process Safety Management (PSM)
Project Management small and large projects
Must meet the following:
Bachelor of Science Mechanical Engineering
>3 years of related experience
SAP experience preferred
Must be able to perform essential job tasks:
Communicate effectively (both written and oral) with all levels of the organization as well as with other business stakeholders
Effectively work with and/or lead teams of peers
Demonstrate proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Suite & other computer applications
Must be able to meet the following requirements:
Able to work in United States without sponsorship
Able to utilize typical personal protective equipment without difficulty
Able to physically access equipment throughout the plant on multiple levels
