National Grid is hiring a Data Archiving Software Engineer for our IT Foundations team in Waltham MA.

National Grid is progressing journey to review and rationalize existing information systems and to establish data archival capabilities using OpenText Info Archive and AppBuilder tools. These will allow to minimize cost application and server footprint as well as address aging systems and their data retention requirements.
National Grid IT team is currently seeking an innovative adaptable and results oriented Data Archiving Software Engineer that will help enable our archival platform design and implement decommissioning of the legacy systems with structured and unstructured data into the InfoArchive. Design and develop ETL to streamline data extraction build of configurations and searches for the Info Archive system.
This role will allow learning new skill related to OpenText Info Archive product. Candidate will acquire knowledge and will become responsible for delivering and maintaining support for OpenText InforArchive product as well as guiding business clients to address their data archival needs in line with data retention policies. This role will report to the Director of IT Foundations within the National Grid IT organization. The IT Foundations team is responsible for the tools enabling the efficient timely and costeffective strategy development and delivery.
Bachelors degree in computer science/engineering or in related field
Complimentary professional experience in software technologies
Handson SQL developer and/ordatabase administrator experience is a must
Knowledge of Oracle or SQL Server RDBMS (database structures and query language)
Basic knowledge of Linux and Windows Server OS commands
Should have experience in Agile Methodology
Strong analytical skills for solving complex problems independently
Strong verbal and written communication skills on technical and nontechnical levels
Detail oriented and ensures quality of deliverables
Working experience with XML and XQuery is a plus
Knowledge of OpenText InfoArchive is a plus
Knowledge of data archiving/migration is a plus
Ability to work equally well with a team and independently
The capacity for selfmotivation independent initiative and creative problemsolving
Diligent attention to detail and strong technical intuition
