News 8 WROC in Rochester New York is hiring aDigitalContent Producer to join our awardwinningdigitalteam. TheDigitalContent Producer will be responsible for creating website articles multimedia stories original native videos and more for our stations variousdigitalplatforms. The ideal candidate will be able to assist with content gathering video editing web posting producing livedigitalprogramming social media monitoring and more tasks associated with the everevolving industry ofdigitalmedia.
DigitalContent Producers will work in the newsroom writing aggregating and publishing news stories videos and multimedia elements to our stationsdigitalplatforms. The ideal candidate will be wellversed in web content production writing and journalism have a working knowledge of thedigitalmedia landscape.
Requirements:
Strong writing and editing skills with attention to detail and knowledge of AP style
Proficiency in web content management systems
Must be able to work independently and collaboratively in a fastpaced environment
Knowledge of online news journalism and best practices
Basic clipping and editing of video fordigitaldelivery
Optimizing onair assets for our variousdigitalplatforms
Determine a storys emphasis length format and organizes material accordingly
Creates engaging stories videos and imagery for our viewers specific to platforms
Posting updates and content to our stations website and social media handles
Flexibility with working any and all shifts including nights and/or weekends
Copy editing and correcting content across our variousdigitalplatforms
Gathers information through research interviews experience or attendance of events
Ensures that all content meets station standards for integrity and production quality
Advanced experience with Instagram Tik Toc and other shortvideo platforms preferred.
Perform other duties as assigned
Bachelors degree in journalism and newsroom experience preferred
Compensation $15.50$17/hour commensurate with applicants experience and skill level.
