Senior Revenue Accountant

THE POSITION:
At STACK the Senior Revenue Accountant is an essential part of the Finance and Accounting Department. This individual will be responsible for overseeing revenue recognition ensuring compliance with accounting standards (such as ASC 606 managing revenuerelated processes and providing critical financial insights to support the business for a portion of our portfolio of business. This role requires a blend of technical accounting expertise attention to detail and strong communication skills to interact effectively with crossfunctional teams.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Revenue Recognition:
    • Ensure accurate and timely client billing and revenue recognition in accordance with ASC standards.
    • Review and analyze contracts for proper revenue recognition treatment ensuring all data center contracts are appropriately categorized
    • Work closely with finance accounting sales legal and operations teams to assess the impact of new contracts and amendments for impacts to financial statements.
    • Prepare service orders ensuring they are consistent with the executed contracts and produce accurate accounting (ASC 606 and/or ASC 842
  • MonthEnd Close:
    • Perform detailed reconciliations of revenuerelated accounts including common area maintenance and utilities by facility or tenant to ensure accuracy.
    • Prepare journal entries related to revenue recognition reimbursements deferred revenue and accruals.
  • Revenue Reporting & Analysis:
    • Prepare revenuerelated reports for management highlighting trends variances and opportunities for optimization.
    • Analyze revenue performance and collaborate with business units to support financial decisionmaking.
    • Prepare monthly utility billing calculations
  • Audit & Compliance:
    • Support internal and external audits by preparing schedules providing documentation and ensuring adherence to accounting policies and procedures.
  • System & Process Improvement:
    • Collaborate with IT and finance teams to improve revenue recognition processes and reporting tools leveraging ERP and other financial systems.
    • Identify and implement process improvements to streamline the recognition and reporting of revenue in the data center business.
  • CrossFunctional Collaboration:
    • Work closely with Sales Legal and Operations teams to understand contract terms and ensure compliance with revenue recognition policies.
    • Provide customer service to external customers in portfolio as questions concerns arise participate in quarterly business reviews and support accounts receivable as needed.
THE DETAILS:
  • Location:Denver CO In office at least 3 days per week
  • Travel:less than 10
  • Compensation: $75000 to $90000 Yearly Bonus
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States
  • Must pass comprehensive background screening
MUSTHAVE QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Accounting degree required
  • Detailoriented
  • NetSuite experience is desirable
  • 5 years experience in revenue accounting with a strong preference to real estate and leasing related experience
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office product suite especially Excel
  • Strong analytical problem solving and communications skills
  • Enjoys collaborating and works well crossfunctionally with other teams
  • Ability to execute process and prioritize tasks with minimaltono supervision
  • Comfort creating processes and implementing strategies that serve an organization
  • Indepth knowledge of US GAAP especially ASC 606 and ASC 842
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and collaborate with internal staff external consultants customers and other stakeholders
