POSITION Union: Utility Service Representative
NUMBER OF POSITIONS AVAILABLE: 2
LOCATION: CT East Hartford Meadow St
WAGE RANGE: $45.30 $53.12 (NO LICENSE) $46.34 $54.16 (WITH LICENSE G12 $46.73 $54.56 (WITH LICENSE S14 P12
The Company will consider applications of employees for the above classification if they are presented in writing; the application to include a statement of the qualifications of the applicant.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must possess all qualifications and satisfactorily perform all the duties of Service Representative A.
- Must have demonstrated knowledge of piping/plumbing practices.
- Must understand and demonstrate knowledge of safe practice in his work.
- Must have demonstrated knowledge of principles of gas combustion and utilization.
- Must have demonstrated knowledge of gas pressure gas pipe sizing meters regulators and orifice sizing.
- Must be able to understand and follow oral and written instructions
- Must be physically able to perform all duties required.
- Must be able to read write and speak English effectively.
- Must have a valid Connecticut MVD license.
DUTIES:
- *Adjusts regulates cleans and repairs pilots burners orifices controls and accessories on all appliances including central heat dual fuel and air conditioning.
- *Inspects installs and corrects appliance installations including service regulators meters meter connections house piping appliance and venting facilities.
- *Installs parts on appliances.
- *Accepts orders from customers for appliance parts and accessories.
- *Works a fixed shift.
- *Installs new and used appliances.
- *Delivers and returns appliances.
- *Installs repairs and maintains gas water vents and other piping.
- *Has full responsibility for performing work safely and in a satisfactory manner.
- *Has responsibility of maintaining truck and tools in orderly condition; maintaining truck stock in accordance with prescribed requirements.
- *Does work of meterman directs the work of servicemen helper and performs other miscellaneous Customer Service work as required.
- *Inspects gas facilities on customers premises for safety and adherence to State and Federal codes.

THIS IS A DOT SAFETYSENSITIVE POSITION. ANY APPLICANT TRANSFERRING INTO THIS DEPARTMENT FROM A NONSAFETY SENSITIVE POSITION WILL BE REQUIRED TO PASS A PREEMPLOYMENT DRUG SCREEN AND A RESPIRATOR MEDICAL QUALIFICATION TEST.
