The Role

As an Art Teacher (ECT) you will be responsible for delivering engaging and inspiring art lessons to students in Key Stage 3 Key Stage 4 and potentially Key Stage 5. This is an exciting opportunity for an ECT to begin their career in teaching art in a school that values creativity innovation and the individual artistic expression of every student.

Key Responsibilities:

• Teaching and Delivering Lessons: As an Art Teacher (ECT) you will create and deliver engaging lessons across various art forms including drawing painting sculpture and digital media. You will help students develop technical skills while encouraging their creativity and selfexpression.

• Assessment and Feedback: Regularly assess student progress and provide constructive feedback to help them improve and reach their full potential in art.

• Building Student Confidence: Support students in exploring different techniques and media helping them develop both their technical abilities and their creative confidence.

• Collaborate with the Art Department: As an Art Teacher (ECT) you will work closely with experienced colleagues to plan and deliver a cohesive curriculum and share teaching ideas and resources.

• ExtraCurricular Activities: Support extracurricular activities such as art clubs exhibitions and school projects providing students with additional opportunities to engage with art beyond the classroom.

What We Are Looking For in an ECT Art Teacher

We are looking for an enthusiastic Art Teacher (ECT) who is passionate about the arts and eager to begin their teaching career in a supportive environment.

• Qualifications: A degree in Art or a related subject and Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) (or in the process of obtaining it).

• Passion for Art: You should have a genuine enthusiasm for art and be committed to inspiring students to explore their creative potential.

• Enthusiasm for Teaching: As an Art Teacher (ECT) you should be eager to learn and develop your teaching practice with a strong desire to make a difference in students lives.
