Job Description
Job Title: Cardiothoracic/Cardiovascular Surgeon
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Cardiothoracic/Cardiovascular Surgeon to join our team at a stateoftheart hospital that offers advanced heart treatments including Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement (TAVR) and Watchman procedures. This fulltime permanent position offers the opportunity to perform cuttingedge cardiovascular surgeries work with a multidisciplinary team and make a significant impact on the lives of patients with complex heart conditions.
Position Details:
- Employment Type: FullTime Permanent
- Location: Dothan Alabama
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform a variety of cardiovascular surgeries including TAVR (Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement) Watchman procedures coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) valve repairs and heart transplantation.
- Diagnose and treat patients with complex cardiovascular diseases and conditions including aortic stenosis heart failure atrial fibrillation and coronary artery disease.
- Work closely with a multidisciplinary team including cardiologists anesthesiologists and nursing staff to develop individualized treatment plans for patients.
- Educate patients and their families on treatment options risks and recovery processes related to cardiovascular surgery and procedures.
- Collaborate with the cardiology team in the implementation of innovative treatments like TAVR and Watchman devices for patients with atrial fibrillation and aortic valve disease.
- Participate in oncall duties and provide emergency care as needed.
- Maintain accurate and uptodate medical records in accordance with hospital policies and healthcare regulations.
- Stay current with advancements in cardiothoracic and cardiovascular surgery ensuring evidencebased practices and patientcentered care.
- Provide mentorship and training to residents and fellows contributing to the education of the next generation of cardiovascular specialists.
Qualifications:
- Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution.
- Board certification in Cardiothoracic or Cardiovascular Surgery.
- Valid medical license to practice in Alabama.
- Extensive experience in performing cardiovascular surgeries including TAVR and Watchman procedures.
- Strong diagnostic surgical and problemsolving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a patientcentered approach.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Commitment to staying current with the latest advancements in cardiovascular surgery.
Preferred Skills:
- Fellowship training or advanced specialization in cardiothoracic or cardiovascular surgery.
- Experience with minimally invasive techniques and roboticassisted surgery.
- Experience in managing complex cases of cardiovascular diseases.
