Overview
The role of an OT (Operating Theatre) Technician at our healthcare facility in Sonbhadra Uttar Pradesh is crucial for ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the surgical environment. This position involves a combination of technical skills teamwork and patient interaction to support surgeons and other medical staff during surgical procedures. The OT Technician plays a vital role in maintaining safety sterility and equipment readiness in the operating theatre. Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain the operating room before during and after surgery.
- Ensure all surgical instruments and supplies are sterile and ready for use.
- Assist surgeons and nurses during operative procedures.
- Monitor and maintain proper inventory of surgical supplies and instruments.
- Adhere to infection control protocols and preventative measures.
- Support patient positioning and comfort during surgery.
- Assist in the documentation of surgical procedures and patient records.
- Participate in the cleaning and sterilization of surgical instruments postprocedure.
- Provide assistance in the recovery area as per surgeons request.
- Handle and prepare specialized equipment for specific surgeries.
- Report and troubleshoot equipment failures or issues during surgeries.
- Participate in training and orientation of new staff and interns.
- Communicate effectively with the surgical team regarding patient information and needs.
- Assist in emergency procedures as required.
- Stay updated with new technology and practices in surgical assistance.
Required Qualifications
- Formal education in OT technology surgical technology or related field.
- Certification as an Operating Theatre Technician or equivalent.
- Experience in a hospital or clinical surgical environment preferred.
- Knowledge of anatomy surgical procedures and hospital protocols.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Prior experience with sterilization processes and equipment handling.
- Basic life support (BLS) certification.
- Effective communication skills in local language and English.
- Ability to work under pressure in a dynamic environment.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to maintain teamwork.
- Willingness to work variable shifts including nights and weekends.
- Ability to lift and move patients or equipment as needed.
- Sound judgment and decisionmaking skills.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and education.
- A valid certification of good conduct and health clearance.
