Overview:
The Quality Assurance (QA) Technician is responsible for ensuring that all products meet established quality and safety standards by conducting thorough inspections and monitoring critical control points throughout the production process. This role focuses on verifying packaging specifications ensuring accurate date coding and conducting regular Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) inspections. The QA Technician plays a key role in maintaining compliance with regulatory and company standards.
Job Description:
1. Checklist Monitoring and Documentation:
Conduct daily monitoring of QA checklists ensuring all critical control points are checked and documented accurately.
Verify that all quality assurance procedures are followed consistently throughout the production process.
Report any deviations from established protocols and initiate corrective actions as necessary.
2. Packaging Inspection:
Inspect packaging materials and finished products to ensure they meet company specifications and quality standards.
Verify that all packaging components such as labels containers and seals are correctly applied and intact.
Ensure that packaging processes align with customer and regulatory requirements.
3. Date Code Lot Number and Product Code Verification
Monitor and verify the accuracy of date codes lot numbers and product codes on all products ensuring compliance with company and regulatory standards.
Ensure that these codes are legible correctly formatted and accurately placed on all packaging materials.
Document any discrepancies and work with production teams to correct and prevent future issues.
4. GMP Inspections:
Conduct routine Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) inspections to ensure the facility and processes meet all food safety and quality standards.
Identify areas of noncompliance and work with relevant departments to implement corrective actions.
Maintain records of GMP inspections and follow up on action items to ensure resolution.
5. Compliance with Standards and Regulations:
Ensure compliance with all relevant food safety and quality regulations including FDA USDA and companyspecific requirements.
Assist in preparing for and participating in thirdparty audits and certifications.
6. NonConformance Management:
Identify nonconforming products materials or processes and report them to the appropriate personnel.
Assist in the investigation and documentation of quality issues contributing to root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions.
7. Continuous Improvement:
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and operational efficiency.
Suggest improvements to QA processes and procedures based on inspection findings and industry best practices.
8. Collaboration with Production:
Work closely with production teams to monitor and improve quality during the manufacturing and packaging processes.
Provide guidance and training to production staff on quality standards GMPs and company procedures.
9. Record Keeping and Reporting:
Maintain detailed records of all QA inspections checks and corrective actions.
Prepare reports on QA activities and present findings to the Quality Assurance Management.
10. Health and Safety:
Adhere to all health and safety guidelines and promote a safe working environment.
Participate in safety training and hazard assessments as required.
Qualifications:
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand for long periods and perform repetitive tasks.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs as required.
Comfortable working in a food production environment with exposure to varying temperatures humidity and noise levels.

Hours:
Open availability for Saturdays and second shift is a plus and may be required as needed. The primary hours will be MondayFriday 6:00 am 3:00 pm. The 2nd shift runs from 3:00 pm 11:00 pm and is only required if the production schedule calls for it which is infrequent.
