Job Description

4 yrs. experience in budgeting that included fiscal management & control involving use of quantitative/statistical analysis (e.g. probability statistics linear regression multiple variable regression computer assisted regression analysis models trend analysis forecasting cost benefit analysis).

Or completion of undergraduate core program in accounting public finance public administration or business administration; 24 mos. exp. in fiscal management & control involving use of quantitative/statistical analysis (e.g. probability statistics linear regression multiple variable regression computer assisted regression analysis models trend analysis forecasting cost benefit analysis).

Or completion of graduate core program in accounting public finance public administration or business administration; 12 mos. exp. in fiscal management & control involving use of quantitative/statistical analysis (e.g. probability statistics linear regression multiple variable regression computer regression analysis models trend analysis forecasting cost benefit analysis).

Or 12 mos. exp. as Budget Analyst 63261.

Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications for Employment noted above.

At the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency our primary goal is to protect the environment and public health. We do this by ensuring compliance with federal and state environmental laws.

What we need YOU to do:

The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency wants you to be our newest senior budget analyst on the Fiscal Administration team working at our Central Office in beautiful downtown Columbus.

Numbers stats data your jam.

Were looking for a savvy numbercruncher whos proficient with various spreadsheet and data management software to complete complex analysis reporting and forecasting of the agencys financials. In addition to performing general accounting tasks like journal entries billings cash draws transfers and revenue deposits youll perform specific roles in our accounts receivable system and research historical transactions.

For grants youll create and submit federal financial reports and analyze awards to determine implementation requirements meet grant requirements and agency fiscal policy. Youll respond to customer inquiries from the Ohio EPA eBusiness Center and participate in annual audits and in preparing data for the agencys biennial budget process.

Outside of the fiscal administration team youll collaborate with other agency divisions state agencies stakeholders and customers. Youll manage receipts for agency fee collection and calculate financial penalties for violators of environmental laws and regulations.

Heres a tally of the main tasks.

Complete complex financial reporting and analysis.

Perform general accounting tasks for accounts payable and receivable.

Run and submit federal financial reports for agency grants.

Analyze grant awards to determine implementation meets requirements and agency policy.

Respond to customer inquiries from the Ohio EPA eBusiness Center.

Participate in the agency biennial budget preparation process.

Collaborate with other Ohio EPA divisions other state agencies stakeholders and customers.
