Essential Duties And Responsibilities
The Assistant Director for Employer Relations serves as a member of the Career Development Center Employer Relations Team advancing its mission by developing and executing employer outreach recruitment and relationship management strategies that produce highquality fulltime and internship opportunities for App State students. Plans and executes all CDC anchor events under the supervision of the Associate Director including career fairs conferences and other engagements with a focus on highquality engagement between employers and students for the purpose of networking exercising career readiness competencies and connecting to jobs and internships. Support employer engagement with the CDC by identifying new employer contacts recruiting employers as potential internship and employment sites securing employer involvement in programming and events and supporting employers in the partnership programs. Connect employers with Boone and Hickory campus stakeholders (e.g. academic colleges and departments institutional administrative units alumni community members and others) to engage students in the recruiting and hiring process through targeted programming. Compile assess and report data on employer relations and development activities and events. Use data collected to market outcomes and services as a benefit of engaging with the Career Development Center. Coordinate site visits including campus local and regional employers to maintain/develop new relations promote Career Development Center programs and services with emphasis on internships job development oncampus recruiting and utilizing Handshake. Serve as a consultant to employers to expand their talent pipelines and provide employers with engagement opportunities that foster mentoring and networking with students. Train and supervise Employer Relations student assistants.
Minimum Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications Bachelors Degree and three years of professional experience preferably in higher education or private sector recruiting Experience in program and event planning with demonstrated superior attention to detail and organizational skills Proven effective oral written and interpersonal communication skills Proven ability to establish and maintain professional relationships and build rapport with students faculty staff alumni and employer colleagues Ability to manage time effectively and prioritize competing tasks Familiarity with recruitment and hiring practices and knowledge of industry trends
Preferred Qualifications
Masters Degree in a related field Strong computer skills including managing databases platforms and software packages Experience working with career services management platforms such as Handshake customer relationship management CRM platforms or related technical software
