Job Description

SUMMARY SCOPE OF ROLE
As a Housekeeping Room Inspector you would be responsible for inspecting guest rooms and responding to guest requests in the hotels continuing effort to deliver outstanding guest service and financial profitability. If the inspector role is not needed during your shift your duties will be allocated to either guest room cleaning deep cleaning or housekeeping projects.
MINIMUM EDUCATION/RELEVANT WORK QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or equivalent
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES
To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.   • Thoroughly inspect guest rooms and public areas
  • Issue housekeeping call backs to housekeepers if areas in guest rooms were missed or needs touched up.
  • Create Guest Room Attendant room assignments update Property Management System with room updates and communicate with Front Desk teams with any daytoday items needed to communicate.
  • If assigned clean guest rooms including but not limited to making beds cleaning bathrooms dusting and vacuuming.
  • Change and replenish bed linens towels and guest amenities as needed
  • Perform deep cleaning tasks as needed.
  • Dispose of trash and recyclables.
  • Respond to special guest requests in a timely friendly and efficient manner
  • Perform guest turn down service as needed.
  • Complete any projects given from Housekeeping Manager or Director of Rooms.
ADDITIONAL JOB FUNCTIONS
  • Communicates and consults with appropriate corporate office support departments as necessary
  • Assist in profit and loss/monthly inventories as needed
  • Strong coaching counseling listening and facilitation skills
  • Excellent analytical and proactive problemsolving skills
  • Must possess good integrity and business judgment team orientation goal orientation with high personal productivity skills
  • Miscellaneous duties as assigned by IDM Executive Committee
KEYS TO SUCCESS IN THIS ROLE INCLUDE
  • Must be able to speak read write and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace.
  • Must be able to read and write to facilitate the communication process.
  • General knowledge of the city where the hotel is located and its attractions.
  • Extensive knowledge of the hotel its services and facilities.
  • Regular attendance in conformance with the standards which may be established from time to time is essential to the successful performance of this position. Associates with irregular attendance will be subject to disciplinary action up to and including termination of employment.
  • Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry associates may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the hotel. In addition attendance at all scheduled training sessions and meetings is required.
  • Upon employment all associates are required to fully comply with IDM rules and regulations for the safe and effective operation of the hotels facilities. Associates who violate hotel rules and regulations will be subject to disciplinary action up to and including termination of employment.
EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK
  • Occasional: 019 hours per week
  • PartTime: 2029 hours per week
  • FullTime: 3040 hours per week
  • First Shift: 7:00am3:00pm
  • Second Shift: 3:00pm11:00pm
  • Split Shift: 11:00am7:00pm
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
The Room Attendant directly reports to the Housekeeping Manager and has limited scope of supervisory responsibilities based on function of position.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Ability to lift to 50 lbs. clearly verbally communicate with employees and public speak hear see read write type dial reach and bend.
  • Most work tasks are performed indoors. Temperature is moderate and controlled by hotel environmental systems.
  • Must be able to stand and exert wellpaced mobility for up to 4 hours in length.
  • Must be able to exert wellpaced ability in limited space and to reach other departments of the hotel on a timely basis.
  • Must be able to push and pull carts and equipment weighing up to 250 lbs. on a regular and continuing basis.
  • Must be able to bend stoop squat and stretch to fulfill cleaning tasks.
  • Requires grasping writing standing sitting walking repetitive motions bending climbing listening and hearing ability and visual acuity.
  • Talking and hearing occur continuously in the process of communicating with guests supervisors and other associates.
  • Vision occurs continuously with the most common visual functions being those of near vision and depth perception.
  • Requires manual dexterity to use and operate all necessary equipment.
  • All associates must maintain a neat clean and wellgroomed appearance per IDM standards.
