With offices in London the U.S. and Asia Pacific Talbot is the managing agent of Syndicate 1183 Syndicate 2019 and Syndicate 2478 at Lloyds. Syndicate 1183 underwrites a number of classes of business including war and terrorism energy marine financial lines cyber transport political risk crisis management contingency and property. Syndicate 2019 reinsures a portfolio of U.S. ultrahigh net worth personal lines business. Syndicate 2478 supports AIGs global property and casualty reinsurance program.
Through its expert team of underwriters and a balanced geographicallydiverse portfolio of business Talbot has earned a reputation as an industryleading insurance specialist.
How you will create an impact
- Coordinate with risk owners to encourage collaboration the sharing of knowledge and to facilitate the adoption of best practice across Talbot.
- Provide expert advice and guidance to colleagues on risk management matters and foster good working relationships across the business.
- Continue to embed the Risk Management Framework across Talbot ensuring consistency with the Groups ERM framework with specific focus on Insurance Market Credit Liquidity Strategic Operational and Group risk.
- Monitor regulatory and market developments to identify the possible impact of emerging or evolving risks.
- Document and maintain Talbots risk appetites and tolerances the associated statements of appetites their measures and key indicators.
- Monitor and record changes in the risk profile of the business including the effectiveness of the control environment.
- Record monitor and investigate risk events / incidents and risk management actions.
- Assist in the completion of the Own Risk and Solvency Report.
- Be an active user of the GRC System and ensure that it is always up to date as the system of record for the risk management process.
- Coach and mentor junior members of the team.
What youll need to succeed
- Significant experience as a Senior Risk Analyst or Risk Manager within insurance.
- Risk Management and/or ACII qualification preferred.
- Highly motivated and a selfstarter.
- Very strong listening and communication skills.
- Good negotiation and influencing skills.
- Good knowledge of Microsoft PowerPoint Word and Excel and databases.
