The Role

Global Platforms Architecture team is looking for a Principal Architect to lead the Credit Cards domain working closely with Engineering teams to drive out modernization of our cards platforms.

Is this role right for you

  • Work closely with Delivery and Engineering teams Product Owners and technical platform teams to architect design and develop next generation payments/cards processing platforms and enable incremental delivery of new features to the platforms.

  • Drive out endtoend software architecture design and develop distributed hybrid cloud based transaction processing systems.

  • Perform code review provide guidance and mentorship to engineers in the team ensuring best practices are followed and software artifacts are built in a sustainable manner

  • Have the ability to architect design and deliver software that can scale elastically across multiple data centers and cloud vendors while staying resilient.

  • Play the Chief Architect role for the Cards domain helping teams align with our cards reference architecture.

  • Performing research and development to evaluate emerging technologies and their potential to redesign payments and core banking platforms.

  • Aligning solutions to strategic technical and capability roadmaps and identifying new shared capabilities and business opportunities.

  • Understand how the Banks risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in daytoday activities and decisions

  • Champion a highperformance environment and contributes to an inclusive work environment.

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role

  • 5 years of experience in IT with an emphasis on enterprise integration patterns including API / Microservice design Asynchronous messaging systems (Kafka MQ) relational databases inmemory databases resilient architecture

  • Experience in the cards domain is desired familiarty with cards networks PCI compliance is an asset

  • Experience with structured Architecture practices hybrid cloud deployments and onpremise tocloud migration deployments and roadmaps.

  • Experience building architecting designing and implementing highly distributed global based systems. Experience in network infrastructure security data or application development.

  • Performance engineering techniques.

  • Security secure development principles OAuth infrastructure security public key infrastructure

  • Experience of working with Enterprise Architecture Frameworks and their application

  • Previous working experience in Agile/Scrum software delivery model.

  • HA Design/Architecture principles

  • Experience with software design / development on both on premise and cloud based environments

Working Conditions:

Work in a standard officebased environment; nonstandard hours are a common occurrence.

Occasional travel is required.
