A vacancy exists for aTeacher Assistant Head Start to work within the Office of Early Childhood Services Head Start at the Montgomery County Intermediate Unit! This fulltime position serves students ages 35 years old.

Qualifications:

High School Diploma required (must obtain CDA within 18 months of employment); CDA or Associates Degree preferred.
Ability to perform the following physical activities: stoop run sit stand walk bend lift children carry thirty 30 pounds be outside in all seasons be inside prepare food hear within normal ranges and see within normal ranges.
Ability to work with and relate to young children and families of diverse backgrounds.
Original certificates of clearance from the State Police the Child Abuse Registry and PDE FBI.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Assist the teacher by performing essential classroom tasks
Helpto supervise and accompany students during activities within and outside the classroom
Aidthe teacher by working with the students in small groups or on an individual basis in various instructional and learning activities.

The Montgomery County Intermediate Unit Head Start program has classrooms located throughout Montgomery County PA. More information on the Head Start program and locations can be found athttps://mciu/officeofearlychildhoodservices/headstart/. We have a position available at the following location:

The Early Learning Academy 1605 W. Main St. Norristown PA 19401

Work Schedule:
Monday Friday 7.5 hours/day 10 months 188 days/year)

Hourly Rate:

Starting at $19.30/hour for High School Diploma/CDA/Associates Degree (nonECE related)
Starting at $20.40/hour for Associates Degree (ECErelated)
