JOB SUMMARY
The role of tutor is a parttime temporary position serving primarily to guide and support the learning styles and behaviors of students enrolled in ACHE. Tutors are generally in the second year or beyond of their respective program and work no more than twelve 12 hours a week. Tutors will work only during the established academic term dates of the applicable program. Tutoring sessions will primarily occur facetoface on the ACHE Campus in the ARCOM or the CoHS building. When oncampus tutoring is not available virtual tutoring sessions may be held but these virtual sessions must be approved in advance by the dean or program director. In order to serve more students group sessions will be offered. Oneonone sessions will be limited to tutor availability and must be approved in advance by the Academic Success Counselor.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Tutors students facetoface on the ACHE Campus in the ARCOM or the CoHS building.
- Group sessions will be utilized preapproval required for oneonone tutoring based on tutor availability.
- Collaborates with Academic Success Counselor.
- Helps students identify recognize and understand key concepts.
- Refines study behaviors and notetaking skills.
- Promotes the development of testpreparation and testtaking strategies.
- Must complete tutortraining onboarding through OAA.
- Participates in a focus group at the end of each semester .
- Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS AND CREDENTIALS
Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications
- Enrolled in the second year or beyond of the applicable program i.e. DO PT OT etc.
- Good Academic Standing in their program of study.
- Earned grades of > 80 in all courses and > 85 in courses in which they serve as a tutor.
- Approved by SPC and SCC.

- Adhere to the policies and procedures set forth by ACHE and the program where the student is enrolled.
- Proficiency in computer skills i.e. Microsoft Office.

- May be required to accomplish job duties using various types of equipment/supplies to include but not limited to pens pencils calculators computer keyboards telephone etc.
- May be required to transport oneself to other campus offices conference rooms and on occasion to offcampus sites to attend meetings conferences workshops seminars etc.
- May require travel or work away from campus.
- Requires attendance at events representing ACHE both within as well as outside of the university setting.
- Frequently required to work at a desk conference table or in meetings of various configurations.
- Frequently required to see for purposes of reading matter.
- Frequently required to hear and understand speech at normal levels.
- Occasionally required to lift items in a normal office environment.
- Frequently required to operate office and presentation equipment.
