Job Description
We are seeking a Mechanic for a permanent role based in East London Eastern Cape.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Grade 12 with motor trade test
- Candidate must be resident in or close to East London
- Must have experience with : vehicle diagnosing; fault finding; suspension work; brake repairs; maintenance/servicing; electrical wiring; engine rebuilds
Diagnosis and Repair:
- Identify and diagnose mechanical issues using diagnostic tools and experience.
- Repair or replace faulty parts including engines transmissions brakes and other components.
- Perform scheduled maintenance services like oil changes lubrication and engine tuneups.
- Test and adjust repaired mechanical parts to ensure proper performance.
- Conduct regular inspections to identify potential problems and ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks such as changing fluids rotating tires and checking brake systems.
- Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repairs performed.
- Communicate with customers to explain vehicle problems and repair procedures.
- Provide estimates for repairs and explain the cost of parts and labor.
- Answer customer questions and address concerns.
- Install and fit new vehicle accessories.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Keep up to date with the latest industry technologies and maintenance practices.
- Work with high voltage batteries if working on hybrid or electric vehicles
