Job Description
Lead & Optimize Laboratory Operations in a Dynamic Healthcare Environment
Lighthouse Lab Services is seeking an experienced Director of Laboratory Services on behalf of a premier healthcare organization dedicated to delivering exceptional patient care. Key Responsibilities
Daily Operations Management: Supervise and manage all aspects of laboratory services ensuring optimal functioning and compliance with CLIA CAP and HIPAA regulations.
Team Leadership & Development: Lead a dedicated team of laboratory professionals including hiring training and providing ongoing support to foster a collaborative and highperformance environment.
Quality Assurance & Compliance: Ensure the laboratory meets the highest quality standards consistently passing regulatory inspections and maintaining proper certifications.
Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in laboratory operations implementing best practices to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
Collaboration with Senior Leadership: Work with the VP of Laboratory Operations and other executive leaders to align laboratory services with organizational goals.
Budget & Resource Management: Support budget creation and oversee resource allocation ensuring laboratory services operate within financial parameters while maintaining quality.
Technology & Equipment Management: Work with IT and technical teams to ensure the effective integration of laboratory technologies systems and equipment.
What Were Looking For
Education & Experience
Bachelors degree in Clinical Laboratory Science Medical Technology or a related field (Masters degree preferred).
Minimum 5 years of experience in laboratory management or operations within a healthcare or clinical setting.
Proven experience in managing laboratory services with a focus on efficiency quality and regulatory compliance.
Strong understanding of molecular diagnostics clinical laboratory operations and healthcare workflows.
Certifications & Skills
Certification as a Clinical Lab Scientist (CLS) Medical Technologist (MT) or equivalent is preferred.
Indepth knowledge of CLIA CAP COLA and HIPAA regulations.
Strong background in financial management including budgeting resource allocation and cost control.
Familiarity with Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) and laboratory automation technologies.
Excellent leadership communication and interpersonal skills to manage teams and collaborate with various departments.
Experience with process improvement methodologies such as Lean or Six Sigma is a plus.
