Job Description
Your Role at St John of God Geelong Hospital
You will be responsible for providing high standard support and assistance to patients visitors and caregivers and directing queries accordingly.
This position is available in our Emergency Department to be considered for this role you will be required to participate in a 24 hour 7 days per week working roster.
The Position
Participate in handover between shifts.
Coordinate telephone calls and messages promptly and professionally.
Maintain patient records ensuring accuracy and currency of details including new born babies.
Assist patients visitors and general public with enquiries and directions.
Receive and create preadmission forms checking health insurance details and notifying patient of any extra charges they may incur.
Admit new admissions for the day.
Maintain security of keys and key register.
Distribute and coordinate ingoing and ongoing mail and faxes.
Photocopying and other duties as required.
Coordinate with the Manager HIS or Hospital Coordinator of any problems encountered whilst of duty.
You will have excellent switchboard operating skills and ability to prioritise and multitask a busy and varied workload. Health Fund and webPAS knowledge is desirable.
To succeed you will have ability to work extra shifts including weekends night shifts and other weekday shifts. And have knowledge of medical terminology.

We can offer you
Salary: $36.48 to $37.53 per hour (casual loading included) plus 11.5 superannuation
Casual position available.
