Position Overview:
The Landscape Superintendent will lead a team in the of various softscape projects including planting soil preparation mulching sodding and maintenance of landscape features. This role requires a handson approach strong leadership skills and a deep understanding of horticulture and landscaping practices. The ideal candidate will have a passion for creating beautiful outdoor spaces and a proven track record of managing successful landscaping projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and supervise a team of landscapers in the installation and maintenance of softscape elements ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget.
- Plan and organize daily work schedules assigning tasks to team members based on project requirements and individual skill sets.
- Conduct site inspections to ensure work is performed to the highest standards and in accordance with design specifications.
- Provide training and guidance to team members on best practices safety procedures and proper use of equipment.
- Collaborate with designers project managers and clients to ensure project goals are met and client satisfaction is achieved.
- Troubleshoot and resolve any issues that arise during project maintaining a proactive and solutionoriented approach.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed materials used and project progress.
- This position transitions into fulltime snow removal during the winter months.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in landscaping with a focus on softscape installation and maintenance.
- Proven experience in a supervisory or leadership role within the landscaping industry.
- Strong knowledge of horticulture plant species soil types and landscape design principles.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate and lead a team.
- Ability to read and interpret landscape plans and blueprints.
- Proficiency in the use of landscaping tools and equipment.
- Valid drivers license and a clean driving record.
- Certification in horticulture or a related field is a plus.
