Job Description
Position Title: Assistant Professor (Computer Information Sciences)

Position Summary: Washburn Universitys Computer Information Sciences Department invites applications for the position of Assistant Professor of Computer Information Sciences to begin August 2025. This is a fulltime 9month tenuretrack position. This hire is contingent based on funding.

Essential Functions:
Fulfill teaching expectations associated with a tenuretrack appointment. Teach 12hours per semester (either inperson or online according to departmental needs) or equivalent full workload as outlined in the faculty handbook.
Teach and develop undergraduate classes and seminars as assigned and as dependent upon department needs.
Advise and mentor students.
Fulfill service expectations associated with a tenuretrack appointment by engaging in service activities in the department college university and profession.
Fulfill scholarship expectations associated with a tenuretrack appointment.
Perform additional jobrelated duties as assigned or as appropriate.
Required Qualifications:
Doctorate in Computer Science Software Engineering or a computingrelated field. ABD candidates will also be considered with the completion of a doctorate by May 2026.
Graduate training consistent with teaching computer science courses at the undergraduate level.
Demonstrated dedication to developing teaching practices that engage students from all backgrounds.
Official educational transcripts are required at the time of hire.
