Job Description

Tower Engineering Professionalsis seeking a fulltimeArchitectural Historianin our Denver CO field office.Tower Engineering Professionals offers a comprehensive benefits package including medical and dental insurance paid vacation and holidays 401k with company match and a relaxed fun environment.
TheArchitectural Historianwill manage cultural resource projects from start to finish and be able to complete those projects independently. TheArchitectural Historianwill also work collaboratively with other cultural resource professionals to develop review and submit reports for Section 106 consultation.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Secretary of the Interior Qualified architectural historian:
  • Masters degree in architectural history art history historic preservation or closely related field with coursework in American architectural history or a bachelors degree in architectural history art history historic preservation or closely related field plus one of the following:
    • At least two years of fulltime experience in research writing or teaching in American architectural history or restoration architecture with an academic institution historical organization or agency museum or other professional institution; or
    • Substantial contribution through research and publication to the body of scholarly knowledge in the field of American architectural history
Knowledge Skills and Abilities
  • Ability to complete complicated cultural resource projects without supervision and/or assistance from others
  • Working knowledge of Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act and NAGPRA
  • Working knowledge of the FCCs Nationwide Programmatic Agreements (NPA and Collo NPA)
  • Experience with applying National Register criteria to a variety of cultural resources including aboveground resources
  • Ability to conduct complex analysis/curation of cultural resources
  • Experience cooperating and coordinating with State Historic Preservation Offices (SHPOs) and Native American tribes
  • Excellent computer skills in Microsoft Suite and ArcGIS
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and with a team
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and outoftown for up to a week at a time
Essential Functions
  • Complete and/or contribute to Cultural Resource Reports for Section 106 consultation including fieldwork and photograph reconnaissance
  • Prepare and submit FCC Form 620s and 621s for proposed communications tower sites
  • Coordinate and correspond with SHPOs and Native American tribes on Section 106 projects
  • Manage client projects to include correspondence to clients problem resolution and final reports to meet required deadlines
  • Manage archaeologist(s) and/or other cultural resources personnel
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to be at site locations both on the ground and on building roof tops sit stand walk use both hands and reach and raise items above the head use fingers to feel and handle talk and hear. While performing the duties of this job the employee frequently is required to stoop kneel and crouch lift weight or exert a force up to a maximum of 25 pounds.
Work Environment
Approximately 50 performed in an external environment onsite outdoors exposed to the elements of nature working under normal construction conditions. Approximately 50 performed in climatecontrolled internal office environment working under normal office conditions
