What Youll Do

The Line Supervisor for Projects Civil/Structural/Architectural (CSA) Engineering provides leadership technical direction and oversight to Civil Structural and Architectural Design personnel. The Line Supervisor is responsible for maintaining safe working conditions and safety awareness flow down of goals performance reviews time card approvals setting priorities/expectations and integrating work within the supervised organization. Monitors department workload and ensures the performance of the organizations of established scope budget and schedule. Advises management of staffing needs necessary to address both forecast and emerging workload. Leads CSA Engineers in the development of budgets proposals cost estimates schedules design deliverables reports and other documents required to meet project needs. The candidate will possess excellent interpersonal oral and written communication skills with the ability to energize organize and lead groups of engineering personnel. Develops and maintains qualified technical resources to execute projects in support of the Pantex mission.

Minimum Job Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in Civil or Structural Engineering or Architecture/Architectural Engineering from an Engineering Accreditation Commission (EAC) Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) accredited program in the United States or designated equivalents from Canada or Mexico the Washington Accord or the list of substantially equivalent as documented by ABET degree with aminimum of 5 years of relevant experience
  • In addition the applicant must meet the requirements of DOE O 426.2 (i.e. Baccalaureate in engineering or related science 2 years jobrelated and at least 1 year nuclear experience or a DOE 426.2 alternative)
    • DOE 426.2 experience requirements can be satisfied following employment
    • In the interim newly hired personnel will not be assigned duties that could impact the safety basis of nuclear facilities (Ref. DOE O 426.2

Preferred Job Requirements

  • Masters degree in Civil or Structural Engineering or Architectural from an Engineering Accreditation Commission (EAC) Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) accredited program in the United States or designated equivalents from Canada or Mexico the Washington Accord or the list of substantially equivalent as documented by ABET
  • A Professional Engineering License (PE)
  • At least 10 years of relevant experience
  • Knowledgeableof Pantex engineering procedures resources practices processes and policies needed to solve problems and accomplish work
  • Skills in effective planning writing organization communication schedule compliance personnel management and design management
  • Technical expertise and full knowledge of related engineering systems applications of engineering and construction methods and materials
  • Knowledge of industry and regulatory standards and design criteria pertinent to various engineering disciplines
  • Ability to read and/or interpret complex engineeringdrawings
  • Ability to conduct formal presentations to plant personnel and other interestedparties
  • Ability to present information clearly and effectively through the oral and writtenword

Requires a Q clearance; however all qualified candidates will be considered regardless of their current clearance status. The ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy Q clearance is required.

Position may require entry into Materials Access Areas (MAA) and participation in the Human Reliability Program (HRP). If HRP is required candidate must complete a counterintelligencescope polygraph pursuant to 10CFR 709. Medical requirements may apply.
