Applicants are invited to apply for Research Assistant Professor positions in the Center for Graphene Research and Innovation at the University of Mississippi. The center specializes in fundamental and applied research related to graphene and other 2D materials.
The successful candidate will work with an interdisciplinary research team on utilizing graphene and graphenelike materials for smart infrastructure applications (cement and asphalt) multifunctional polymer composites membranes structural foams and selfsensing materials. The candidates responsibilities include but are not limited to the design fabrication and characterization of grapheneenabled materials for the above applications as well as modifying the surface chemistry of graphene and improving its dispersion in polymers and other matrix materials. Other responsibilities include 1 mentorship of graduate and undergraduate students 2 preparing research results and writing manuscripts for publication and 3 assisting with grant writing. This position is available for one year with the possibility of renewal contingent upon availability of funding.

A Ph.D. in Chemistry Chemical Engineering Materials Science/Engineering or a related field with specialty in graphene and graphenelike materials. Candidates should have strong experimental experience and a track record of successful research. The candidate is required to have good communication skills.
