Qualifications for this Career Opportunity
- Knowledge of psychosocial assessment occupational placement and vocational rehabilitation counseling.
- Knowledge of medical and psychiatric conditions in relation to the rehabilitation process.
- Knowledge of counseling theories techniques and applications.
- Effective written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to be flexible and balance between literal adherence to rules and the use of policies as a guide. Does not look to protect the rule but rather uses the rules to increase engagement.
- Meet minimum qualifications:
- Individuals may be considered for a training assignment if they possess:
- Bachelors degree in a field of study reasonably related to vocational rehabilitation counseling disability studies human services business administration special education psychology or communications or another field that reasonably prepares individuals to work with consumers and employers.
- One year of experience in rehabilitation counseling career counseling or human services.
- Fully qualified applicants possess:
- Masters degree in rehabilitation counseling.
- Certification by the Commission on Rehabilitation Counselor Certification (CRCC) is highly preferred.
- Other combinations of directly related education and experience may be considered on a casebycase basis.
