Job Description
Job Summary:
The purpose of General Maintenance is to be responsible for keeping the plant clean while assuring proper functioning of the machines.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Perform and log daily water and chemical test on boilers chillers and cooling towers.
- Perform daily inspection on all boilers chillers and cooling towers.
- Maintain the boiler rooms and chiller room clean and organized.
- Pick up parts from various local vendors as needed.
- Perform weekly test on the fire pump.
- Perform weekly check of all sprinklers and PIVs to make sure the valves are free and remain locked.
- Assist with the filter changes on all the ATO units.
- Check and change all office lab break rooms restrooms ext. air conditioners air filters.
- Check and replace all blown light bulbs in the offices lab break room and threw out the plant.
- Keep all the boilers and pressure vessels permits posted and up to date.
- Assist with maintain and service all support equipment and help with repairs if needed.
- Keep the plant and grounds clean and free of trash.
- Assist other maintenance person that needs help as needed.
- Responsible for keeping the shop and around the shop clean and organized.
- Perform any additional task(s) as needed for the benefit of the company as requested by management.
Performance Expectations (if applicable):
- Lifting is required a weight of 25 pounds 50 times per shift.
- Standing and walking are required approximately 8 hours per shift.
- Reaching is required approximately 75 times per shift.
- Stooping is required approximately 50 times per shift for approximately 10 second intervals.
- Bending is required in inspecting carpet approximately 50 times per shift.
Experience/Education Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Must be able to read and write.
- Must be able to do basic addition subtraction division and multiplication.
- Ability to work communicate and get along with fellow employees.
- Help maintain the daily general neatness and cleanliness of the laboratory.
Other Requirements:
- Overtime is required on occasion.
- Perform any other duties as assigned.
- All accidents must be reported immediately.
