Your Mission

As a System Designer Autonomous Train Development you will play a critical role in designing and developing the nextgeneration Autonomous Train Operation (ATO) system. You will define requirements develop system architectures and collaborate with crossfunctional teams to create safe efficient and reliable automation solutions.

Key Responsibilities

System Design & Architecture

  • Analyze customer and project requirements to define ATO system specifications.
  • Identify technical risks and propose innovative solutions.
  • Develop formal system models using UML SysML SADT methodologies.
  • Define functional and constructional architectures for autonomous train systems.

System Integration & Validation

  • Collaborate with RAM Safety Cybersecurity Software and Hardware teams to ensure seamless integration.
  • Define system elements and interfaces to guarantee compatibility across all subsystems.
  • Conduct simulations and tests to validate system performance and reliability.

Research & Innovation

  • Work on cuttingedge AI and automation algorithms for energyefficient driving and obstacle detection.
  • Contribute to the continuous evolution of ATO technology supporting Alstoms innovation roadmap.
  • Stay updated on railway signaling technologies such as ERTMS and CBTC.

Project & Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Support commercial and R&D projects ensuring compliance with industry regulations.
  • Act as a technical interface for operators suppliers and auditors.
  • Prepare and maintain technical documentation specifications and system reports.

What Were Looking For

Required Qualifications

  • Engineering degree (Master) in Aerospace Electronics Automation Robotics or Computer Science.
  • Experience in system design & architecture ideally in safetycritical industries (rail aerospace automotive).
  • Proficiency in system modeling tools (UML SysML SADT) and architecture frameworks (Capella PTC IM).

Key Skills & Technologies

  • Experience in Vcycle & Agile development methodologies.
  • Knowledge of railway signaling systems (ETCS CBTC) is a plus.
  • Understanding of requirement management & traceability.
  • Proficiency in MATLAB / Simulink for control system design.
  • Strong analytical skills problemsolving mindset and ability to work in a highly technical environment.

NicetoHave:

  • Background in AI machine learning or computer vision for railway applications.
  • Experience with safetycritical software development (EN 50128 ISO 26262.
  • Interest in automation digital twins and smart mobility solutions.
