Maintenance Technician (Industrial Refrigeration)
Location: Ponneri Chennai
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform preventive scheduled and breakdown maintenance on refrigeration equipment including compressors motors cooling towers condensers liquid level floats/controllers and gas leak detection systems.
- Ensure all maintenance activities comply with safety standards and operational guidelines.
- Diagnose and resolve issues in industrial refrigeration systems and related equipment.
- Analyze and interpret technical documents such as electrical schemes fluid schemes and piping diagrams to identify and address problems.
- Maintain and service freezers cold storage units chillers heat exchangers pumps and other refrigerationrelated systems.
- Ensure a comprehensive understanding of overall refrigeration systems and processes.
- Safely manage and handle ammoniabased refrigeration systems adhering to industry safety protocols and best practices.
- Collaborate with the operations team to plan and prioritize daily maintenance tasks.
- Support operational efficiency by addressing maintenance requirements promptly.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities inspections and troubleshooting results.
- Prepare and share daily reports with internal teams to ensure transparency and effective communication.
- Adhere to the preventive maintenance schedule for all refrigeration equipment to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
- Conduct scheduled inspections of operating equipment and log findings in accordance with company policies.
- Communicate effectively in basic English both verbally and in writing to document and convey technical information.
- Utilize Microsoft Office tools proficiently for documentation reporting and communication purposes.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelors degree in mechanical Electrical or Electronics Engineering.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in industrial refrigeration with a focus on Ammonia and Freon systems.
- Strong knowledge of refrigeration systems including freezers cold storage units chillers heat exchangers and pumps.
- Familiarity with electrical and piping diagrams fluid schemes and other technical documentation.
- PLC and SCADA system knowledge will be an added advantage.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Word Excel PowerPoint).
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with crossfunctional teams.
- Strong problemsolving and analytical skills.
- Attention to detail and commitment to safety standards.
