OVERVIEW The Middle School Spanish Teacher has strong teaching abilities an understanding of pedagogy and instructional practices fluency in Spanish and a strong interest in environmental studies. The Spanish Teacher works collaboratively within a team of educators in a Middle School setting. The teacher works closely with his/her specialist team and provides an introduction to Spanish in an ageappropriate and developmentallyresponsive manner. This role requires experience in language instruction for middle school age students. This role also requires quarterly meetings with the ECS Spanish Teachers. Candidates should be energetic and progressive minded with a willingness to work collaboratively with grade level and specialist teams.
Key Responsibilities - Implement lesson plans by employing a variety of teaching strategies that provide meaningful learning opportunities and promote student engagement
- Connect current and best practice language acquisition research to instruction and activities geared to middle school students
- Create a positive achievementoriented and structured learning environment in which all students can experience success
- Incorporate student engaged assessment practices into instructional delivery model
- Infuse joy and rigor in lessons so that students are excited about and invested in their academic excellence
- Collect observational data to help inform upcoming lessons and support student growth
- Utilize the google platform for document development
- Fully participate in opportunities for professional growth
Educational Background and Work Experience
- Bachelors degree from an accredited institution
- PA teaching certification in Spanish
- Demonstrated experience working with children in grades 68 highly desirable
- Training or experience in language acquisition in the middle grades strongly preferred
- Familiarity with charter schools
- Experience in teaching a wide range of abilities
- Interest in leading school activities is highly desirable
Compensation and Benefits - Minimum starting salary of $44716 up to a maximum starting salary of $51056 dependent upon prior years teaching experience.
