About the role:

Everest Group Ltd. (Everest) is seeking an Assistant Vice President of Data Engineering to drive the of our Global Data Strategy for our Reinsurance division. In this highly visible position you will apply strong technical acumen and leadership in partnership with business counterparts to effectively define plan and deliver technical solutions that support business outcomes in service to Everests strategy. This is a player/coach role that will lead a group of teams and be a strong engineering leader across the organization.

This is a hybrid position based in Warren New Jersey working 3 days onsite 2 remote.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Partner and work collaboratively with internal customers to understand strategic analytics and business intelligence needs and the associated enabling technology requirements.

  • Lead the technology activities to enable the delivery of meaningful actionable datadriven capability in alignment with business strategies

  • Develop and lead the of the data and analytics technology strategies and roadmaps to optimize rapid delivery of information management capabilities while aligning to established technology and architecture standards

  • Define and deliver the data & analytics architecture tooling and capabilities needed to enable a modern cloudbased data environment and the best practices governance and controls to support the broad adoption and use across the enterprise

  • Drive the delivery of an exceptional customer/partner experience through ready access to data and intuitive selfservice capabilities that ensures the security integrity and quality of data while enabling the agility and performance of a scaled ecosystem.

  • Deliver enabling capability to support the rapid ingestion of new data and the timely deployment of advanced analytic models into production

  • Support the development of engineering capabilities that promotes sharing inner sourcing and reuse of code capabilities and methods in a cloudfirst environment that leverages highly automated DevOps tools and capabilities

  • Drive and accelerate data and analytics transformation and cloud adoption while being a champion of security standards governance and best practices with a focus on data quality and integrity

  • Manage the engagement / coordination across assigned delivery teams to ensure high quality project delivery within scope timeframe and budgets

Knowledge Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong team leadership with demonstrated experience building and managing highperforming teams that rise to new challenges.

  • Inspiring leader with a trackrecord of attracting and retaining great talent raising the bar and communicating with clarity and alignment.

  • Deep experience leading data and analytics organizations within a complex multinational organization.

  • Proven history of successfully delivering data and analytics projects on time on budget with high quality.

  • Influential leader who inspires teams and works well within a collaborative environment.

  • Strong communication and relationship management skills.

  • Ability to establish a clear strategy and roadmap which is well aligned with business stakeholders expectations and translate it into delivery excellence.

  • Comfortable working in a flat lean organization which requires rolling up the sleeves and getting into the details

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in computer science engineering or business

  • 10 years experience in insurance or financial services

  • Experience in insurance/reinsurance required

  • 8 years in the data engineering space with deep experience delivering enhanced analytic and data access capabilities

  • 5 years of people leadership/ management experience

  • Experience working in a large multinational company is preferred

  • Proficient use of the Azure technology stack (ADF Data Bricks) techniques and manipulation including Cloud platforms objectorientated programming (Python SQL) and an understanding of data engineering practices
