Leidos Defense Systems Land Systems Sector is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our collaborative matrix organization that supports multiple programs across various business areas in Leidos Defense & Land Systems. As software engineer you will contribute to software development efforts working alongside experienced engineers to build test and maintain software solutions for desktop applications webbased applications and missioncritical software solutions for Space and Missile Defense programs.

Primary Responsibilities
Work on stateoftheart applications that support national security
Contribute to software architecture and design implementing best practices to optimize performance and security.
Work with cloud computing AI and highperformance computing
Participate in full software development lifecycle activities including requirements gathering coding testing debugging and deployment.
Collaborate with crossdisciplinary teams including systems engineers UX designers and cybersecurity specialists to ensure software meets mission requirements.
Utilize Agile and DevSecOps methodologies to support continuous software integration and deployment.
Conduct code reviews implement unit tests and ensure software quality through automated testing frameworks.
Document software development processes create user guides and technical reports and contribute to knowledgesharing within the team.
Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends to improve software performance and maintainability.
Mentoring Junior Engineers
Ability to lead a software effort entirely and manage a team of Software Engineers with varying levels of expertise.
Develop new architecture solutions for upcoming or existing projects.
Collaborate across teams and domains to create and manage new concepts and technologies for a common goal across the software systems.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelors degree in computer science Computer Engineering Electrical Engineering or a related technical field.
8 years of professional software engineering experience (or possess Masters degree with 6 years of prior relevant experience)
Proficiency in several programming languages (e.g. C C Python Java C#.
Multiple years experience in developing and deploying desktop webbased or missioncritical software applications.
Strong knowledge of software development methodologies including Agile Scrum and DevSecOps.
Strong experience with version control systems (Git GitLab or similar).
Strong problemsolving and analytical skills to troubleshoot and optimize software performance.
Ability to work in fastpaced collaborative environments while managing multiple priorities.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively document and present technical solutions.
US Citizenship required and eligibility to obtain and maintain DoD Secret security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
Strong experience with C Unix based systems networking and up to date on best standards and practices.
Strong understanding of system dynamics Unix kernels memory utilization etc.
Experience in UI/UX domain.
Experience in different methods of data communication (Serialization buffering sockets brokers etc)
Knowledge of cloudbased architectures (AWS Azure or DoD cloud environments).
Experience with containerization technologies (Docker Kubernetes).
Understanding of cybersecurity principles and secure coding practices.
Experience working on defense aerospace or governmentrelated software projects.
Previous professional experience in Space Missile Defense or similar highsecurity environments.

Pay Range $104650.00 $189175.00The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline onlyand not a guarantee of compensation or salary.
