Job Description

Classification Title:

Sterile Equipment Technician

Job Description:

Dispensing clean instruments to dental students and departments using computer program INFODOT. Collecting tracking and processing dirty instruments according to sterilization protocol.

Disinfecting and sterilizing dental instruments for all UFCD dental students and the UFCD dental clinics: Replacing of broken or missing instruments for UFCD dental students.

Recording incoming and outgoing instruments from students and departments.

Oiling and maintaining instruments.

Serves as backup support to Central Sterilization Supervisor.

Labeling and scanning with the INFODOT program.

Inservice training (updates new sterilization techniques and computer classes).

Other duties as assigned.

Expected Salary:

$16.00/hr commensurate with education and experience

Minimum Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications:

Dental Assistant certification or equivalent training.

Ability to prepare sterilize and maintain dental instruments and equipment.

Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.

Ability to plan organize and perform work assignments.

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.

Ability to pay attention to details.

CPR certification within 30 days of hire.
