Job Summary:

To support our market expansion in North America we are currently looking for an Assistant Vice President of Property Facultative Underwriting.

This is a hybrid position working 3 days in office 2 remote in either Atlanta GA New York NY Chicago IL or Philadelphia PA offices.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Manage and underwrite a large book of national risks over various occupancies through the broker channel on a pro rata and excess basis.

  • Develop new business opportunities in order to achieve company goals for growth and profitability.

  • Work with all functional areas of the company including claims accounting actuarial and product management to support company objectives.

  • Adhere to pricing and selection standards that supports strategic objectives and achieve desired financial goals.

  • Maintain awareness of competitor capabilities and strategies as well as the overall insurance marketplace.

  • Referral approver once underwriting authority is obtained.

  • Assist in developing junior staff.

  • Assist with managing risk on a portfolio basis.

  • Assist with improvement of underwriting processes and procedures.

Experience and Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree preferred.

  • Experience as a senior underwriter with 10 years of experience focusing on property facultative underwriting.

  • Large general property complex risk and B&M underwriting experience preferred.

  • Flexibility to market and travel up to 20.

  • The ability to interpret catastrophe modeling and actuarial methodologies and output.

  • Must possess established relationships with brokers and direct markets.

  • Capable of managing a large portfolio.

  • Knowledge of attritional loss costs.

  • Strong decisionmaking skills.

For NYC Only:The base salary range for this position is $160000 $210000 annually. The offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education experience qualifications and work location.
