The Center for Molecular Therapeutics in the MGH Cancer Center is seeking a highly motivated and wellorganized individual for a Research Technician position. The candidate will play a key role in the labs research in understanding molecular basis of drug sensitivity. The Benes lab has established a large collection of cell lines and identified mutations associated with sensitivity to various therapeutic and compounds. Further investigation of the underlying pathways may offer novel therapeutic opportunities.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- The primary responsibility of this position is to support computational biology needs of the Center for Molecular Therapeutics (CMT).
- Programing / coding using established packages or develop new algorithms in coordination with scientists at CMT.
- Record of data analysis progress and report of progress of research at lab meetings. Prepare written and graphic materials for manuscripts poster presentations and oral presentations
- Design and modify existing algorithm and interpret results.
B.S. degree in biology with minor in mathematics statistics or computer science with substantial programming work or B.S. degree in mathematics statistics or computer science with minor in biology is required.
The candidate should be experienced with standard programming languages and application. Previous experience with application of computational tools to biological research preferred.
Must be reliable detail oriented meticulous in record keeping and capable of working both independently and as part of a team.

WORKING CONDITIONS: Position is located at the MGH Charlestown Campus. Basic science laboratory with no direct patient contact.
