MGH TeleHealth seeks an entrepreneurial selfstarter to lead the development of telehealth programs to support external MGH clients including but not limited to acute emergency department consults to community hospitals second opinions and other digital and mHealth offerings. The MGH TeleHealth Senior Program Manager under general supervision from the MGH TeleHealth Director works collaboratively with the TeleHealth project team and the clinical departments to create innovative telehealth offerings for provider employer and insurer clients regionally nationally and internationally. This includes development of working models along with creating supporting processes and infrastructure Background and interest in finance and technology are a plus.
The Senior Program Manager will guide the piloting evaluation and scaling of MGH TeleHealth programs and be accountable to the following internal and external groups as the representative of the MGH TeleHealth program.
- Internal stakeholders include:
- MGH Clinical Departments (Chiefs VPs ADs Clinical leaders and front line staff)
- Leadership of many functional departments across MGH/MGPO/PHS including:
- Information Systems including but not limited to Collaborative Media Help Desk and Info Security team;
- Finance including but not limited to the Physician Billing Office MGPO Budget and Financial Planning Physician Modeling Physician Compensation;
- Marketing;
- Center for Specialized Services;
- Office of General Counsel;
- Health Information Security;
- Admitting and Registration;
- Documentation teams including but not limited to EPIC LMR OnCall);
- Scheduling Teams including but not limited to Cadence and IDX;
- Network Development; Referral Management Office; Population Health Management
- External stakeholders include Csuite leadership in community hospitals clinical and administrative leaders and front line staff.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The ideal candidate will thrive in a startup environment where job duties will evolve as quickly as the program. The Senior Program Manager will not only be responsible for the tasks below but will also represent the Director at meetings when needed.
The Senior Program Manager will work to implement telemedicine programs both within MGH and at its collaborating community hospitals. The candidate will work with respective clinical teams to develop business models project implementation plans identify and track performance metrics train staff coordinate the implementation of telemedicine clinical protocols and collect data for evaluation. The Senior Program Manager will ensure that telemedicine best practices are identified and replicated across all sites.
In conjunction with each Telehealth team the Senior Program Manager will work collaboratively to:
- Identify define and document the project scope goals and success metrics.
- Develop fullscale project plans including milestones and timelines
- Define project tasks and resource requirements.
- Manage project budget and track deliverables using appropriate tools.
- Create meeting agendas document notes and followup with the project team to coordinate next steps.
- Monitor and report on progress of the project to all stakeholders.
- Present reports defining project progress risks challenges and solutions.
Collectively across all TeleHealth programs the Senior Program Manager will be responsible for tasks applicable across all MGPO functional departments in the continued development of telehealth including but not limited to:
The Senior Program Manager will also be responsible for general management tasks as assigned by the Director including leadership presentations resource management and financial analysis.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:
The Senior Program Manager will be responsible for managing the Episodic Care staff at the discretion of the director.
Because much of the role is to greatly influence areas where he/she has no direct supervisory responsibility there is significant indirect responsiblity for managing teams across 10 clinical departments along with many functional areas outlined in the general summary as well as external stakeholders and vendor relationships.
The importance of this positions daytoday role in managing the TeleHealth teams inside and outside of MGH cannot be underestimated. This will include prioritization of work recommendations on appropriate staffing ratios tracking progress towards goals etc.
FISCAL RESPONSIBILITY:
Under the direction of the TeleHealth Director the Senior Program Manager is responsible for monthly financial reporting and budget tracking and other ad hoc financial reports.

EDUCATION:
- Advanced degree (MBA MPH MHA) required
EXPERIENCE:
5 years experience in one or more of the following areas:
- Experience in consulting and/or working with clients a plus
- Experience in telehealth telemedicine digital health mHealth or related industry a plus
- Experience in finance including building business cases and models
- Experience working with healthcare information technologies
- Experience working with clinicians in hospital environment
- Demonstrated experience in management of midsized projects
