With over 80 years in the sawmill business Hampton operates sawmills in Oregon Washington and British Columbia and markets wood products all over the world. We also manage a wholesale and lumber export division and numerous reload and remanufacturingfacilities throughout the U.S. All of Hamptons forestlands are certified by the Sustainable Forestry Initiative (SFI) an independent nonprofit organization that promotes sustainable forest management. SFI certified forests play an important role in water conservation wildlife habitat and climate solutions.

Overview

This GIS Forester will focus on GIS support for managing Hamptons timberlands and other forestry operations. The successful GIS Forester will work closely with other Hampton staff to provide support in forestry and essential geospatial information used in decisionmaking planning and monitoring.

Responsibilities

  • Digitize and manage spatial data
  • Manage data workflows and field data collection formats to provide end users with accurate mapping and data information in the forestry sector
  • Consolidate and standardize information from a variety of sources for the development and maintenance of the databases and workflows
  • Utilize the following software systems: ArcGIS Enterprise ArcGIS Online ArcGIS Pro ArcGIS Field Maps Survey123 ArcGIS Dashboards and other mobile applications within forestry
  • Provide ESRI software instruction and support to other users
  • Field and respond to requests for spatial and tabular deliveries
  • Support the maintenance and improvement of spatial and tabular data
  • Simplify and standardize data management processes and create innovative solutions to complex problems
  • Support the silvicultural harvesting and data collection operational needs of Hamptons forestry operations

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 2 years of professional GIS experience with ArcGIS Pro in Forestry
  • A minimum of an Associate Degree in Geography Forestry or a related field or a GIS Certificate with
  • Preferred 2 years of professional experience in forestry or a related natural resources field
  • Preferred 4 years of experience working with ESRI software and products
