NORWEST COOP COMMUNITY HEALTH JOB POSTING

Youth Mental Health Community Counsellor

1 parttime 0.8 EFT) term position

Starting as soon as possible and going until at least March 06 2026

Internal & External Posting

Salary range: $35.881$46.826 per hour. Benefits as per MAHCP.

The Youth Mental Health Community Counsellor will provide mainly appointmentbased and

occasionally dropin mental health counselling support to youth accessing services at the

Huddle NorWest youth hub. Counsellors also cofacilitate mental health support groups.

Counsellors work with both internal and external partners in the operation of Huddle NorWest.

Primary hours for this position are as follows:Monday Tuesday Thursday Friday 10:00am6:00pm; Wednesdays 11:00pm7:00pm. Applicants must be available for the hours during which Huddle NorWest is open specific to the EFT posted and may be subject to change.

QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Bachelors Degree in related counselling field including: Social Work; Occupational Therapy (MOT); Counselling; or other.Registration with applicable College/governing body required.
  1. Minimum one years experience providing youth mental health counselling.
  2. Experience working in community development and community outreach.
  3. Knowledge of community resources and community development principles &practices.
  4. Strong communication and problemsolving skills.
  5. Empathetic nonjudgmental approach.
  6. Ability to work well within an interdisciplinary team in a variety of settings.
  7. Knowledge and experience with diverse cultures and economic backgrounds.
  8. Experience working within an integrated youth services setting an asset.
  9. Valid drivers license and access to a vehicle required.
