General Description:
The Commercial Service Plumber is directly responsible for working service calls for installing maintaining and repairing plumbing systems in commercial settings. Ensure all plumbing issues are addressed efficiently and according to safety regulations and code. The Commercial Service Plumber will work on a variety of projects from routine maintenance to more complex plumbing challenges work with new installations and deliver toptier service to our clients.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose plumbing issues including water supply drainage systems and gas lines.
- Perform routine maintenance inspections and upgrades to ensure systems are functioning optimally.
- Interpret blueprints technical drawings and schematics to plan plumbing installations and repairs.
- Install repair and maintain plumbing systems in commercial buildings including pipes fixtures fittings and equipment.
- Study building plans and inspect structures to assess material and equipment needs to establish the sequence of pipe installations and to plan installation around obstructions such as electrical wiring.
- Measure cut thread and bend pipe to required angle using hand and power tools or machines such as pipe cutters pipethreading machines and pipebending machines.
- Install pipe assemblies fittings valves appliances such as dishwashers and water heaters and fixtures such as sinks and toilets using hand and power tools.
- Cut opening structures to accommodate pipes and pipe fittings using hand and power tools.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment adhering to health and safety standards.
- Provide excellent customer service by communicating clearly with clients explaining work to be done and answering questions regarding plumbing systems.
- Ensure compliance with local plumbing codes and regulations.
- Keep up to date with industry best practices technologies and tools.
- Coordinate with Field Foreman on needed materials and supplies
- Other duties as assigned
Experience Requirements:
- Proven experience as a commercial plumber with a strong background in servicing and installing plumbing systems in commercial environments.
- Indepth knowledge of plumbing systems including knowledge of codes regulations and safety practices.
- Understand the use of hand tools (tape measures pipe wrenches hammers screw drivers etc.
- Utilize and handle power tools in a safe manner
- Ability to read and write in English
- Ability to communicate verbally and in writing in a professional manner to all levels inside and outside the company
- Must have the ability to work with train and lead Apprentices and Helper level staff members
- Operate in a safe manner and follow all safety requirements (wear appropriate PPE as required by the jobsite keep a safe and organized working environment free of hazards etc.
Education Requirements:
The Commercial Service Plumber is required to have the following certifications or education or the ability to obtain the following:
- High School Diploma or GED
- OSHA 10 or 30 Certified
- Backflow Certified preferred
- Valid Drivers License
- Must have obtained Journeymen Licensing or have 5 years of verifiable job experience in Commercial Plumbing
