Job Summary:
Seeking a highly motivated and detailoriented Cost Estimator & Data Analyst to join our team. This role will be integral in supporting our sales and engineering departments by developing accurate cost estimates for our manufactured products. The successful candidate will also be responsible for ensuring data integrity by reviewing engineering and sales data as well as analyzing variance reports postproduction.
Responsibilities:
- Cost Estimation:
- Collaborate with sales and engineering teams to gather product specifications and requirements.
- Develop comprehensive cost estimates for materials labor and overhead utilizing established methodologies and tools.
- Analyze and interpret engineering drawings BOMs (Bills of Materials) and technical specifications to determine accurate cost projections.
- Maintain and update cost databases and models to reflect current market prices and manufacturing processes.
- Prepare and present cost estimates to internal stakeholders ensuring clarity and accuracy.
- Data Analysis and Validation:
- Review and validate data entered by engineering and sales teams to ensure accuracy and consistency.
- Identify and resolve data discrepancies and errors implementing corrective actions as needed.
- Generate and analyze variance reports comparing estimated costs to actual production costs.
- Develop and maintain reports and dashboards to track key cost metrics and performance indicators.
- Utilize data analysis tools and techniques to identify trends patterns and areas for cost optimization.
- Assist in the development and implementation of data quality control processes.
- Process Improvement:
- Identify and recommend improvements to cost estimation and data analysis processes.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of best practices for data management and reporting.
- Participate in crossfunctional projects to support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Proven experience in cost estimation and data analysis within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes materials and cost accounting principles.
- Proficiency in using cost estimation software and data analysis tools (e.g. Excel SQL ERP systems).
- Excellent analytical problemsolving and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fastpaced environment.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and BOMs.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to data accuracy.
Preferred
- Bachelors degree in Engineering Finance Business Administration Data Science or a related field preferred but not required.
- Relevant work experience would be required.
- Experience in the electronics manufacturing industry.
- Knowledge of statistical analysis and modeling techniques.
- Experience with ERP systems.
