Employee Relations Specialist London
Context and Purpose
Working closely with the global HR Business Partnering team the Employee Relations (ER) Specialist will be responsible for providing expert employee relations guidance and assuring progressive best practice.
Forming part of HR central support services and as the ER subject matter expert the ER Specialist will advise on ER case management globally while also being responsible for developing ER case management capability policy and process across the business. Ensuring compliance with regional legislative requirements mitigating risk and contributing positively to how we effectively manage people capability and performance across the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Assisting managers and HR BPs in resolving ER issues across all regions (including but not limited to the UK US France Spain Germany Thailand Korea Japan and Australia).
- Advising on investigations performance issues grievances disciplinary actions accommodations and appeals by providing best practice advice and supporting HR colleagues throughout these processes to achieve fair and businessfocused results.
- Advising on and collaborating with our CSE in France; experience of working with CBAs (Collective Bargaining Agreements).
- Collaborating on change programs and collective issues and offering guidance on topics like organizational restructuring.
- Developing documenting and implementing global people practices that foster and sustain positive working relationships.
- Ensuring local employee handbooks and policies are current legally compliant and reflective of our culture as well as pragmatic in nature.
- Enhancing ER capabilities among managers and HR Business Partners through training coaching and partnership.
- Diagnosing and supporting the interventions needed for continuous improvement of ER processes policies and tools.
- Utilizing ER data to guide decisionmaking and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Establishing appropriate reporting mechanisms for both informal and formal employee relations cases.
About You
To succeed as an ER Specialist you should have:
- Extensive UK and EMEA ER experience balancing business needs with a positive employee experience. Experience in France Germany or Spain is a plus.
- Knowledge of multilocation labour laws with a proactive approach to staying up to date. APAC experience is an advantage.
- Strong influencing and communication skills both written and verbal with a clear and effective style.
- Experience in matrix organizations able to navigate complexity and pivot between tasks efficiently.
- A scalable mindset designing global ER solutions such as automating initial advice.
- Strong decisionmaking and problemsolving skills with the ability to apply critical thinking in ambiguous situations.
- A collaborative and fair approach fostering trusted partnerships and delivering high standards.
- Confidence in handling difficult conversations maintaining neutrality and professionalism in complex ER cases.
- A deep understanding of organizational culture recognizing evolving challenges and opportunities for improvement.
