Job Description
POSITION SUMMARY:
A hybrid position across Content and Philanthropy the Director of Institutional Advancement is responsible for: 1 advancing integration in Content and Philanthropy strategy and ; and 2 leading the planning and of all restricted and unrestricted fundraising from foundations corporate philanthropic giving programs and government agencies.
Compensation: $125000 to $140000 annually (depending on qualifications) in addition to company providedbenefits.
Hybrid Work Environment: Candidates must live in or be willing to relocate to the Twin Cities Metro area and report to onsite office three days per week.
MAJOR AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:
Advance Integration across Content & Philanthropy 20 of time)
- Work closely with Chief Content Officer Content leaders and Advancement teams to identifyand develop Content priorities that are fully informed byphilanthropic opportunities.
- Take lead in working with Chief Advancement Officer and Advancement teams to develop and implement integrated and proactive funding plans proposals and case language that support Content priorities.
- Ensure consistent communication about strategies/plans between Content and Advancement.
- Track and identify current and emerging funding priorities and trends and communicate across Content and Advancement.
Lead and manage Institutional Giving Team 20 of time)
- Set and achieve revenue goals for restricted and unrestricted grants from foundations corporations and government agencies.
- Build and maintain multiyear grants pipeline that aligns with Content priorities and TPT strategic plan.
- Collaborate with leadership in Major Giving Membership and Revenue operations to create a coherent strategy for future revenue.
- Lead team in developing and implementing proactive prospect research and funder engagement strategies.
- Manage team members providing opportunities for leadership and professional development.
- Coordinate with Development Operations to improve efficiency of Institutional Giving team.
- Coordinate with Development Operations to ensure that CRM is effective in supporting both Institutional Giving and collaborative philanthropic strategies.
- Provide leadership by inspiring a vision for growth and success and setting new standards of excellence and expectations.
Build relationships with foundation corporate and government funders 40 of time)
- Work with Institutional Giving team to Initiate cultivate and maintain relationships with representatives of foundations corporate philanthropic programs and government agencies aggressively seeking foundation corporate and government funding opportunities to increase support for TPT.
- Work with Major Giving Team to identify and implement strategies for growing gift from family foundations.
- Work with Executive staff Content staff and Board to develop and implement cultivation solicitation and stewardship plans with highlevel funders and prospects.
- Seek and pursue opportunities to raise TPTs visibility among key funding constituencies.
- Personally maintain a portfolio of funders.
- Create presentations write proposals and prepare reports for portfolio of funders.
Engage Executive Staff Content leaders and Board in advancing institutional giving 5 of time)
- Provide Executive leaders Board and key leaders with relevant information and consistent messaging to assist with funder engagement and solicitation opportunities.
- Keep Executive leaders and Content leaders apprised of trends in institutional philanthropy.
- Assist CCO and CEO on external communications that include fundraising activities.
- Lead development of compelling presentations and comprehensive fundraising proposals for institutional and government funders.
- Participate as an active member of the Senior Management Team and Content Steering Committee.
Lead and manage fundraising from government agencies 15 of time)
- Oversee all federal asks including National Productions STEM and RTL requests
- Lead biannual renewal request for Legacy funding.
- Coordinate with CRO CCO and other leaders to identify and develop strategies to pursue emerging opportunities for state funding related to Content.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required Experience:
- 10 years prior experience in seeking and securing 5figure gifts from foundations corporations and/or government agencies
- 5 years previous management experience
Preferred Experience:
- 15 years prior experience in seeking and securing 5 figure gifts from foundations corporations and/or government agencies.
- 10 years of managerial experience
- Bachelors in business sales or nonprofit fundraising
Knowledge skills and abilities:
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Excellent strategic thinking skills.
- Deep knowledge of philanthropic landscape in Minnesota and nationally.
- Strong computer skills: Microsoft Office Suite Outlook Word Excel OneDrive Teams.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.Able to multitask in a fastpaced time sensitive deadlinedriven environment.
- Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with all team members.
- Commitment to advancing Inclusion Diversity Equity and Accessibility (IDEA) priorities within the organization.
- Ability to travel to locations in the greater metro area with occasional travel out of the state.
